“Étoile de mer” by David Marin – A Song Review

Typically, it is an uphill battle to attract someone to a song in which the person cannot understand the language. But it happens. It is even more difficult when that someone is an English-speaking American, since we tend to be closed minded about songs that are not in English. However, it happens.
From French Canada comes David Marin. Specifically, he is from Montreal. The song is Étoile de mer, which may be French for “starfish,” but we just don’t care. What matters is the cooperation between the vocals and the instruments. At times, the instruments are loud and proud. At other times, the vocals are only accompanied by an acoustic guitar.
